For code development, small runs, pre-  and postprocessing, the following hardware is available at the institute:

  • Local Computing Clusters
    • 5120 Cores AMD EPYC (OCP, Liquid Cooled)
    • 2752 Cores Intel Xeon (19", Container Hosting)
    • 25 TB RAM (distributed)
    • Infiniband network
  • Postprocessing-/frontend-server each with 192 cores, 1536 GB RAM
  • Visualization server
  • Redundant fileserver > 2 PB
  • Desktop workstations with 6- and 8-core Xeon CPU, Nvidia Quadro GPU, 128-512GB RAM  

 

For large production runs with more than 1 billion grid points extensive experience is available with High Performance Computing systems like the SuperMUC petascale Computer.

For student projects and 3D visualization of flow structures a Dual Extruder 3D printer is available.
