Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2025

3 April 2025

As every year, the Institute organised the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit, this year with the theme ‘Resilient PNT - Backbone of Autonomy & Critical Infrastructure’. PNT services from space face numerous challenges today. Jamming and spoofing incidents are at an all-time high, and maximum solar activity is also affecting navigation accuracy and disrupting systems in space and on Earth. While GNSS use by smartphones seems commonplace, these challenges have a major impact on the operation of safety-critical autonomous systems on land, at sea and in the air. The same is true for critical infrastructure that relies on space-based PNT services. However, thanks to modernised GNSS systems and possible support from LEO-PNT as well as terrestrial navigation systems or other sensors, GNSS will continue to provide reliable services - from the ground to the surface of the moon.

The summit provided an excellent opportunity for networking and professional exchange.
