The paper ‘Efficient Boolean-to-Arithmetic Mask Conversion in Hardware’ by Dr Aein Shahmirzadi and Prof. Hutter was recently accepted for the ArcticCrypt 2025 conference, which will take place in Longyearbyen, Svalbard from 6 to 11 July 2025.
The paper presents an efficient method for converting Boolean to arithmetic masking in hardware - a key building block for the secure implementation of cryptographic algorithms against side-channel attacks. The proposed approach is characterised by low latency and resource utilisation and is therefore particularly suitable for use in embedded systems. A preprint of the paper is available in the IACR Cryptology ePrint Archive: https://eprint.iacr.org/2024/1633.
