Guest lecture by CCEW at the Marburg University

On July 2, 2025, Lena Runge, research associate at the Centre for Crisis Early Warning, delivered a guest lecture in the seminar ‘Methods of Conflict Analysis’ of the master's program in Peace and Conflict Studies at the Center for Conflict Studies at Marburg University.

The focus of the lecture was on crisis early warning and predictive analytics as tools for analyzing conflicts. The guest lecture provided an overview of the basics of early crisis warning, various methods and current debates in forecasting research. Around 40 master’s students took part in the seminar session. In addition to lively discussions on concepts, data and models, various publicly available systems for crisis early warning were explored.

The guest lecture was a great opportunity for an interdisciplinary exchange and to present the work of the Center for Crisis Early Warning.
