Reseach Areas

  • Explosion protection: Development and analysis of protective measures for buildings, in particular to increase the resistance of glass, concrete and reinforced concrete components to air blast loads.
  • Numerical simulation of highly dynamic loads: Application and further development of simulation methods for the evaluation of structural behavior under extreme dynamic loads.
  • Vehicle impact and passive protection elements: Simulation and optimization of protection systems to mitigate the effects of vehicle impact events.
  • Numerical contact mechanics: Modeling and simulation of contact phenomena between components under dynamic loads.
