New paper regarding additive manufacturing

18 March 2025

Our new article "Multi-physics simulation of a material extrusion-based additive manufacturing process: towards understanding stress formation in the printed strand" was recently published open-access in the journal Progress in Additive Manufacturing.

The paper deals with residual stresses that occur in 3D-printed filaments due to the printing process. These lead to components being warped. In order to investigate this phenomenon, both experiments and numerical simulations were carried out.
