Dr. Alberto De Marchi was awarded the Best Paper Prize 2022 of the Journal of Computational Optimization and Applications for his paper “On a primal-dual Newton proximal method for convex quadratic programs”, published in COAP, Vol. 81, pp. 369–395.
Jeremy Bertoncini and his co-authors Adrian Dudek, Martin Russ, Matthias Gerdts, and Peter Stütz were awarded a Best of Session Award at the 42nd Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC, Barcelona, 2023) for the paper "Fixed-Wing UAV Path Planning and Collision Avoidance Using Nonlinear Model Predictive Control and Sensor-Based Cloud Detection" in the session UAS Path Planning.

Sonali Rani and her co-author Matthias Gerdts were awarded a Best of Session Award at the 43rd Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC, San Diego, 2024) for the paper "Real-Time Imitation NMPC Using Least-Squares Optimization for Aircraft Trajectory Tracking" in the session AI and Machine Learning.

Mostafa Emam and his co-author Matthias Gerdts were awarded the Best Conference Paper Award at the 2025 IEEE 101st Vehicular Technology Conference: VTC2025 in Oslo for the paper "Safety-oriented Dynamic Path Planning for Automated Vehicles".
