At the end of this month, the IMCS is saying goodbye to its longest-serving employee Venant Habiyambere. After 35 years (!) at the UniBw, the technical employee is taking his well-deserved retirement. To mark the occasion, Venant hosted a small retirement party at the institute yesterday with home-made African specialties.

On August 17, the annual institute excursion of IMCS led its employees to Inzell. Following this, the group had lunch at Lindlbauer-Kaiserschmarrn Café, where a hearty Kaiserschmarrn awaited the participants, providing the energy for the rest of the day.

The chair of IMCS was again invited to participate in the “FE ohne Schnee” event this year, which took place in Kleinwalsertal. Our postdoc Ivo Steinbrecher was able to present its work on mixed-dimensional modeling.

The first edition of the newly introduced institute barbecue took place yesterday at the Hollerner See in the best weather and completely satisfied all the guests present.
