CSE Colloquium Talk by Christian Weißenfels

30 Juni 2025

On June 25, 2025, the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) research colloquium held its second lecture of the year, continuing the series organized by Professors Apel, Brünig, Kiendl, and Popp. This session featured Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Christian Weißenfels, Professor for Data-driven Computational Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Augsburg, who gave a detailed overview on the topic of "Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics: Fundamentals, Challenges and Applications in Melt Pool Simulation for 3D Printing".

The presentation sparked lively discussion and a spirited Q&A session, highlighting the audience’s strong interest in the topic. Following the talk, attendees had the chance to continue the conversation in a more relaxed setting over dinner at a local restaurant with Prof. Weißenfels, who had been invited to the colloquium by Prof. Kiendl.

The CSE research colloquium is a recurring event. Invitations to future talks will be sent out via email. If you’d like to be added to the mailing list, feel free to contact Philipp Zilk at philipp.zilk@unibw.de. Participants from outside UniBw Munich are very welcome!
