Institute Trip 2025 – Nature, Team Spirit, and Sporting Challenges at Spitzingsee
14 August 2025
Last week, we embarked on this year’s institute trip to the scenic Spitzingsee region. The day began with a relaxed walk around the lake, accompanied by stunning views of its crystal-clear waters and the surrounding mountain scenery, followed by a chairlift ride up to the Rosskopf.
At the summit, a short but rewarding hike offered sweeping views over the Bavarian Alps under bright summer skies. Away from the usual working environment, the team enjoyed the opportunity to take in the natural surroundings and recharge.
Afterwards, everyone gathered for a shared lunch – a perfect moment to connect beyond projects and publications.
The day’s highlight was a downhill ride on mountain carts. This year’s twist: victory went not to the fastest, but to the one closest to the average time. With perfect timing and pace, Dharini Balachandran claimed the win and was duly celebrated.
Special thanks go to this year’s organizers – Aysun Dincer-Gedik, Martin Frank, and Moritz Frey – for ensuring smooth arrangements and a great atmosphere. The team is already looking forward to the next adventure.
