Qualification goal:
Students acquire a basic understanding of the function of a circuit simulator, areas of application of the various analysis methods and modeling of components.
Module components:
- Computer aided layout processes (Lecture, 4 TWS)
Contents:
- Introduction to the areas of application of the various types of analysis (DC, AC, transient and transient analysis, DC sweep, parametric sweep, Monte Carlo)
- Overview of the different analysis methods: Kirchhoff, mesh current analysis, node potential analysis
- Function of a circuit simulator (setting up the system matrix, Gauss algorithm, zero search, integration method)
- Modeling of components for circuit simulation
